God our Father, your servant John Henry Newman upheld the faith by his teaching and example.

May his loyalty to Christ and the Church, his love of the Immaculate Mother of God, and his compassion for the perplexed

give guidance to the Christian people today.

We beg you to grant the favors we ask through his intercession so that his holiness may be recognized by all and the Church may proclaim him a saint.

We ask this through Christ our Lord.

Amen...

Then the priest kisses the altar, and turning to the people says:

V. The Lord be with you.

R. And with thy spirit.

The Collects mean the collected prayers of all the faithful assisting at the Holy Sacrifice. Raising his voice, his hands, and his sentiments to God, the priest excites the faithful to unite their prayers with his.

JMJ+

Hello, we will be needing to call a meeting to schedule our first Mass and find out when and where it should be held.  We have different members from across Northwest Kansas and Hays is looking good, but we will decide at the meeting.

Plus we know for sure that the First Mass will be a Low Mass since it is easiest for the starter groups, not having to worry about the music and so forth, and training the young men for the position of Altar Boys is easy; w...
